The Asurion link is broken. Wonder why…

Score, got one this time.

Because the pages keep changing on Amazon. It’s updated.

One of the comments is saying that this is not UL listed, is that correct?

Not a big deal, just keep a fire extinguisher in sight!

Yes, I saw that! Pretty crazy it wouldn’t be tested to ensure it’s not a fire risk! You’d think these companies licensing their brand name would ensure the basic certifications were adhered to!

BTW, they also list 296W and 293W instead of 293Wh (like on device itself) as if W and Wh is the same thing. The description over at Amazon does have a UL logo, so, the lack of markings on device itself is concerning.

FWIW, these are made by TennRich. Looks like they have a license with Energizer and Shell to put their brand names on products.

Yup, a lot of these companies license out their names these days, and don’t make their branded products themselves. Philips does this too, for example.

Still, the specs for the money for this deal are really good. You’re basically paying power bank prices for this. I doubt it’s unsafe, as these companies at least have some oversight over their licensees. This shouldn’t be like some “ARWOOPFJH” gibberish-name Amazon brand registry Chinesium generic product.

Whenever there are 1 and 2 star reviews from a Vine review, definitely dig deeper! They can be brutally honest, well and beyond what the average reviewer would get into, even though they got it for (not quite) free.

(They are income taxed on the item’s value, so there’s actually still some skin in the game. There’s no returns nor any warranty, though, so if something doesn’t work right, they get peeved.)

Cross referencing their FCCID confirms this:

Hey, it took effort for a cat to sit on a keyboard and come up that name!

It looks like this product released about a year ago. I’m guessing it just wasn’t that commercially successful, and that’s why it’s hitting clearance prices.

I am hoping this means that the cells in this are fresh. Basically getting in on the ground floor for a lithium battery product, so it should be good for quite a few years.

But if someone wants to take one of these apart to check what cells it’s using and when they were made…

I did find a video review on YouTube that did show a UL listing on the power supply itself, but I did not see any definitive UL listing on the power station itself.

Caveat: I never did see a picture of the actual label on the power station itself that might show that… so it might have one, just can’t say for sure.

Here’s a link to the YouTube review, look at 0:57 in the video to see closeup of power supply:

Did find this on the Amazon store page:

Can someone call Energizer and simply ask them? lol

I’m considering this as a light backup to my Bluetti PS70. I love that thing. These Lithium Ion ones can have problems if the batteries are punctured. I might get one for the car or something lighter for occasional use. Would be good for car camping to charge your phone and run fairy lights or strip of LED light

Lithium Ion batteries don’t last as long as LiFePo4, but I’d bet the electronics give out long before. Still, maybe cheaper and better build quality than a no-name brand, maybe.

I bought 2, and yea just going to use it to charge phones and iPad. Giving the other to family. Extended warranty is $9.00 for 3 years.

And it’s gone!

Where do you buy the extended warranty?

On Amazon. It’s the Asurion Protection plan.

Looks like this power station is an Energizer re-brand of this:

It was sold on Amazon before, but the page is down:

https://www.techbargains.com/deals/jueyue-explorer-300-power-station

Wayback Machine to the rescue:

My takeaway is that this probably won’t be any better or worse than the majority of generic/conventional power banks/stations that are out there on the market. But at least since this has the Energizer branding on it, if something goes wrong you can get official support and/or sue an actual American company, unlike with a Chinese brand registry shell company on Amazon.

Commenting here for posterity that it pretty much arrived DOA. Got it, charged it up to 80%. Plugged in one thing plus one USB-A item(like 1 watt draw total), was working fine, left it over night. Next morning it won’t turn on and just flashes E06 and the snowflake when plugged into the charger. It has been in a house that never dropped below 72 degrees and is well within it’s operating temp. Pretty bummed, but it’s junk.
