Gallon is likely cheaper because there’s less plastic packaging. That’s often the case with larger sizes. It’s really not a fair comparison and someone may not want 4 gallons.
The quarts one is a fair comparison. If you put 4 in your cart at Home Depot and factor in shipping, it comes to $38.90. If you have Prime, you get free shipping here. Of course, you could go pick it up and save the shipping charges but that’s not an apples to apples comparison.
