I’m not normally one to rant and rave over ceiling fans, but I have to say, we have 3 of the higher end DC motor Fanimation Fans, and they literally are the best fans we’ve ever owned. They’ve been running almost daily for 3 years, and they are still silent.
I purchased this fan from Lowes exactly one month ago. Easy install, and runs really quiet. The light is perfect for our cathedral ceiling. At Lowes, I paid $169.98 plus tax, so this price is very good. There is also a very good 32 minute video on YouTube regarding the installation plus a review of this fan by Outlaw CRS. Unlike most ceiling fans, where you install the blades last, this fan you install the blades first. I thought, and Outlaw CRS believed, this would make the installation difficult. However, my fear was unfounded. The install was very easy even with the blades being installed prior to mounting the fan.
I was all set to buy this bad boy when I decided to glance over the manual for it first. If I’m not mistaken, then there is no actual light bulb in this thing, just a built-in LED source, and the manual tells you to contact an authorized repair center or some such if you need to replace it at some point. That’s just the kind of unnecessarily complicated baloney that I try to stay away from, so I’ll be skipping this one.
Comes with remote? I see no pull chains for fan or light.

- (1) Fanimation Studio Collection Aire Drop 52-in Brushed Nickel LED Indoor Downrod Ceiling Fan with Light Kit and Remote (5-blade).
thanks!
You mean like my LED illuminated refrigerator? Thank goodness I don’t have to reach in there and change a bulb. Now all I have to do is get my flashlight, cuz the LED is not working. Repair estimated at $400!!!
As robot assembly makes items less expensive to fabricate, prices in store dropped. Manufacturers made up the lost revenue by making sure all repair parts carried 300 to 600 percent markup over factory cost. But at least appliances have not taken the route of most consumer electronics that neither has parts nor is even intended to be open for repair. Every 18-24 months they want you to just toss it and BUY A NEW ONE. Many items (even other than the infamous fruit named devices) strangely stop working at all if you ever open the case…
You are correct. No pull chains, however there is a switch on the unit to reverse the direction of the blade spin. I have no issue with the remote being my source for the fan or light to be turned on or off. The remote also has speed control for the fan, and dim control for the LED light.
