I agree; I thought a Swedish Fish energy drink Woot would be full of fun images and comments but, sadly, just the one. So how about some fun facts?

  • There are 200mg of caffeine in one Swedish Fish Energy Drink
  • The FDA states that 400mg of caffeine daily is safe (so two is safe)
  • Swedish Fish did not actually originate in Sweden. They were created by a Swedish candy company called Malaco in the late 1950s.
  • Swedish Fish are gluten-free, and therefore vegan-friendly and safe for those with celiac (not sure about this energy drink thing, though)
  • May 2nd is National Swedish Fish Day
  • 2016, the Swedish Fish brand attempted to break a Guinness World Record by creating the largest box of Swedish Fish. The giant box, weighing over 3,000 pounds, contained more than 200,000 individual candies.

Pssh. I start my day with two 200mg caffeine pills and a quart of coffee. Don’t let the FDA scare you.

If malaco is swedish and they created swedish fish, where were they created then?

What does something being gluten free have to do with being vegan? It’s wheat a type of meat now?

I feel like you asked chat gpt about swedish fish and it made stuff up…

You can’t have Swedish fish with sucralose. There is no such thing. It has to be pure sugar.

I absolutely grabbed this off a chatbot for giggles and I’m not surprised it’s all crazy talk, but this item is nuts and deserved more discussion! No idea about the vegan stuff. I think the Malaco thing is because the company is Swedish but it was invented in a U.S. office. :person_shrugging:

I do love all the fact-checking that’s happening, though. Good stuff.

Sucralose apparently harms DNA

These sell for cheaper local to me…and sometimes refrigerated. I don’t think I’ve had one.

Gluten is vegan. Perhaps you meant gelatin-free?

I tried this recently and it is actually decent. The taste works for a drink but the Swedish Fish Oreos were an abomination that should never existed.

Wish I could try this without buying a case. Been on the lookout at local stores since i saw it here. So far, no luck!

Recently have seen them at Walmart and occasionally at oak point if you’re in the south. Only place I can ever find good orange cream ones. And Murphy’s (the Walmart gas station) one of the only energy drinks with alpha gpc. They taste great as well lol
