Is this really a 1y warranty? It is new, and a new one from google has a 2y warranty.
The description shows a 2-year warranty. Where are you seeing only 1?
You are correct. It’s a Two Year Warranty. Warranty is updated. TY!
I got a great deal on a couple of these a few weeks ago. Using one (works beautifully and is easy to install and use), and am selling the other in the box, unopened, for, well, about $40 less than what’s here.
I’m pretty sure I can’t be listing my own stuff here though!
Anyway, these are terrific, and well worth it. So get one for yourself!
In the normal warranty spot, before it was updated.
I’m beginning to think that it is a part of the Woot business plan to make mistakes in their product descriptions. It drives discussion and engagement for us to ask questions and point out mistakes. I’m a bit torn on whether I applaud or am angry at woot for this manipulation.
A nest thermostat was installed at work, After about 2 months, it burned out the control board of the HVAC. Yes, wiring was correct according to Nest instructions.
There’s also a long story on a forum I frequent of a user that was on vacation and while he was away, his Nest thermostat failed open and ran both the heat and AC at the same time 24/7, burning out both.
Do not recommend.
Love my Nest thermostats. My house came with two (split control of upstairs and downstairs), and they’ve worked great for over two years. Remote management/scheduling are seamless, and it’s nice that it automatically sets to Away Mode based on my phone’s location (you can disable this for privacy).
It’s worth checking if your power company will subsidize the purchase of smart thermostats like Nest. Looks like mine is offering a $50 rebate for purchase and $70 if you sing up for their Time of Use program.
Mine has promos often where you can buy them for $1. I even had them call one time to say they’d give it to us for free and send someone to install it. I didn’t want to interrupt the lady to say we already had one lol
They have rebates all the time though. Definitely worth checking!
My power company will give them to us, but they want to control them remotely, to reduce peak consumption. No thanks.
I installed a Nest thermostat that quickly burned out our control board as well.
What is the return policy? I want to make sure we can return if it doesn’t match our unit.
You can read about Woot’s return policy here.
(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)
