Here is a picture of Randy’s grandma, she just turned 95…can you believe it? We had a little lunch at Ihop, her favorite place.

That bad storm came through here last night. I still have my pants on.

I’m doing cleanup now. (Well, I’m taking a little break for a while.) We only got a third of an inch of rain, but I guess it’s better than nothing.

What a weekend!
Storms, rain, and I hope damage clears up for everyone. Just started showering here in PNW. Still odd for me to have Summer grey skies and cold rain. Not the quick passing, then sun, humid rains of the Midwest and South. Winter has enough wet and grey weather I don’t need it messing with my Summer sun.

Had good gathering dinner party with friends at our place last night. Hubby made cheviché, cooked pork stew. I made salad and baked strawberry cake. Friends brought chips + quacamole, and homemade sourdough bread. Beer, wine, laughs, and good convo.
Tried playing wiffle ball and 3 strike out baseball at park across the street and we’re feeling sore today. :baseball:

Moved our tv last night to allow more space then upon moving it this morning … it fell. :frowning:
Now have screen w/ mini rainbow line and 3×4 black square in top middle .

Yeah … shouldnt try to move things until after breakfast and coffee. :tv: :coffee:

Laundry is almost done. Hubby will have clean drawers.

TRJ, we all know that ankle pants are not necessary for cleanup. It is a tripping hazard!

@pepper114 I’m going to Mom’s house to work on the mess there. Please send over a serving of that yummy grilled chicken that you made. And some salad would be nice, too.

It might depend on the type of grease.

If you have not rubbed the stain yet, you could place the T in the freezer for awhile. This will harden the grease. You may be able to peel large chunks of the grease off. The goal is too get rid of as much of the surface grease as possible.

If you have already rubbed or blotted the stain, you can then move on to placing the part of the stained t-shirt onto some clean, dry paper towels or clean towels you don’t really care about getting dirty or possibly ruined. Use Dawn (or another brand of dish detergent) directly on the stain.

Let the Dawn detergent sit on the stain for 5-10 minutes or longer if you want, then with a squirt bottle or spray bottle, spray the treated area with cold water (if the grease had other colorants like barbeque sauce or ketchup in it). Otherwise, you could use warm water. Change the paper towels underneath so you are starting with a new, dry, clean stack of paper towels.

Since it is your favorite T, we would start without any harsh rubbing or scrubbing. If the T is made of poly-cotton knit fabric, rubbing or scrubbing may cause the fabric to pill. If there is any printing or design on the fabric, friction may cause a loss of colour, fabric thinning, or removal of the print.

Repeat until you stop seeing any improvement.

Again, depending on what was mixed with the grease, you could proceed to combining Oxiclean with Dawn to make a paste to treat the stain. The addition of Oxiclean changes the pH, so there may be some leeching of the colour from your T. If you don’t have Oxiclean, you could use baking soda instead.

Use your ring finger (for the same reason people use those fingers to apply eye cream, less pressure) to gently mix the baking soda and Dawn on the stain. Depending on the grease in the stain, the baking soda may change colour or not. Let the mixture sit there for a moment or two. Then gently scrape away the mixture. If the stain is still there, repeat the process until the stain is gone.

Routinely, change out the towels or paper towels underneath the stain, you wouldn’t want grease to get back on the T or for the grease stain to spread. You want to use the clean, dry towels or paper towels to draw out the grease into its fibers.

When you think you done, hand wash the T in the warmest water safest for the T shirt fabric. Do not wring out the T. Lay it flat on some clean, dry towels. As the T dries, watch to see if the stain is really gone. If not, repeat all or some of the above steps.

We apologize, but we assumed this is a well-loved T and has been washed numerous times. However, if this is “dry-clean” only T, take it to your dry cleaner.

Hope this helps. Hope we did not forget any steps. We usually have to go through this procedure when we take our friends’ clothes from the VA to clean.

Sometimes that older, worn-out-looking T or sweatshirt has a lot of sentimental value we can’t see. :hugs:

I just ordered my dad a “patio” TV because he was going to move the one in my mom’s bedroom out there.

Oddly enough a 32" was $89 and a 24" was $114.

Walmart had a bunch on clearance too, but I didn’t stop to look. I didn’t know he wanted a patio TV.

Kids! Parents!

Thanks to the Wooter who suggested it. We cannot remember who; but if you are here, let us know. :hugs:

We finally order some new Mentos from Woot.

We’ll let everyone know if they will let us do the soda-mento experiment at the VA.
