GreenPan Carbon Steel Wok 14”

GreenPan Carbon Steel Wok 14”

Woohoo! iirc this is a brand Consumer Reports often rates highly.

Confirmed. In ratings of frying pans, six different GreenPan items are all “CR Recommended.”

MSRP is $70 on the mothership, marked down to $57 for me. This is a certified “Woot!” from me.

I have an old Calphalon wok from my marriage (long ago), doesn’t work well with my glass top stove. Better for home defense.

Hopefully this one’s flat bottom will work better. :crossed_fingers:

Reviews on teh mothership are 65% 5-stars, a few 1-star reviews (“rusts like crazy”) appear to be from folks who didn’t care for it correctly. One person “simmered with Asian vinegar too long” and I wonder what kind of stir fry that recipe was. :man_shrugging:

Yeah, I learned to slowly heat food with my good pans, so I did the same with the wok
I had a glass top when I first moved into this house and when it died, I got an old burner stove in place of it. So much easier to clean for me

I got one for me, one for my Mom, and one for my Aunt, who both had asked me to look for one on Woot!

I cooked fajitas from Costco in mine tonight and it performed like a champ. Bought a 14 inch wok cover from the local Asian food market, $12. For $30 I got $80 worth of absolutely awesome wok. Thank you, Woot!
