Greenworks 40V 20" Cordless Push Mower

Greenworks 40V 20" Cordless Push Mower

Is this a good deal ? Anyone have ecosystem experience with greenworks

Yes this is good. Not only the mower but the price as well. I bought this exact same model summer 2017 and mine is still going strong. I buy and install replacement blades each summer otherwise when you mow the lawn there will be a small strip of grass that doesn’t get cut. Overall, the cutting quality is really good but only if you don’t mind a “perfectly” mowed lawn. There will be random blades of grass that don’t get cut unless you take it slow. To me going with a battery mower where you don’t have to worry about gas/oil changes/etc. is a wonderful trade-off. Batteries last anywhere from 45-60 minutes depending on how hard the batteries have to work. I was thinking about ordering this again at this price for the batteries. Those two batteries cost $200 by themselves.

I have a brushed motor lawn mower. Mine is a Craftsman. It’s awful. Loses power quickly in high grass. This also has a brushed motor.

I’ve had mine (exact model) since 2018 and runs great. Mulching feature could work a hair better but durability, reliability, weight, ease of use, etc have been great. Dual battery is a nice bonus.

I bought my 40v mower last year. It works great. My kids and wife love it so much, they WANT to mow the lawn. I did not get to use it at all!

Most of the reviews on the mother ship are good, the personal reviews here are good so taking a chance on one.
I have a ancient conventional deck self propelled Snapper I love but always needs a belt, new rollers for the belts, etc, plus needing gas.
Hopefully my yard is level and flat enough to be easy to push without a self propelled setup. I always keep the cut as high as possible to keep from hitting the higher spots and rocks scattered around and the Snapper does well and pulls nicely as long as it starts and doesn’t toss the drive belt that needs replaced.

Well got lucky being close to the warehouse in California and having a Prime account so my mower showed up today so hopefully some of you got yours today. Long day at work and beat so haven’t unboxed it and put it together yet but box is in perfect shape.
Looking forward to trying it out soon but I just mowed my yard Saturday so doesn’t really need anything quite yet.

I finally got a dry day after work to try it out. My lawn is mostly field grass and weeds I keep trimmed down. It had been mowed last Saturday so not super high but this guy rolled over it at the highest setting because of the rocks and uneven ground and buzzed all the high spots down nicely. It used both batteries and used the 2ah smaller one first then when I heard it lose power for a second it swapped to the big 4ah one and continued again. First one probably ran about 20 minutes and the other one over 30 and was down to the last bar but still going when I quit.
Was easy to push being so light, deck didn’t break when I hit a few things and all you hear is the motors and blades buzzing.
There are aftermarket 6ah batteries of dubious quality out there cheap so I’ll probably get one of those once I find one with enough didn’t die in 6 months reviews but so far pretty impressed for the money spent.
If the grass was SUPER high it tended to push it over but going over the high spots a few times got most of it and the normal stuff was good.

I have a question, does this mower really have a 90 day warranty seeing how it appears factory new in the box and the 21 inch self propelled steel deck version you have up with a bunch of other GreenWorks mowers has a 4 year warranty?
Thanks for your clarification on this.

Hi there. We pulled these from Amazon inventory so we gave them a 90-day Woot warranty. However, we work with Greenworks a lot and they’ll likely honor the 4 year warranty.

Thanks, I kinda figured as much. Guess just try registering it with them and they either give you 4 years or say woot/Amazon cover it for 90 days.

This mower didnt last more than 2 years. Buy beware.

Mine still works fine and all the aftermarket batteries work well so far for cheap too. Hopefully more of us have them still working then not but you never know.
