When it’s sitting on top of the monitor, do I actually have to touch the monitor with the pen to write? Will it “hoover” the mouse over the place when I move the pen close to surface without touching (a WACOM tablet user here)? And last but not least - does “Perfect brush effect by speed pressure technology” imply it’s pressure sensitive, and can be used with applications like Photoshop as such? How many levels of pressure sensitivity?
It certainly will. Not to mention that it will probably ruin the screen completely.
However, that is why you are supposed to write on another surface, such as a pad of paper
Has anyone ever used this for school? Do they work well for class notes and such?
yes, but is it compatible with my Tecra m7 Tablet PC?
My concern with these devices is that they might damage the screens which were not designed to be touched. Anyone have experience?
For the reviews I have read it doesn’t seem bad.
I found it for 77.77 in black or white at http://www.pricecanada.com/p.php/SISO-Hantech-Tablo-Tablet-Pen-White-TL01W1-611906/
Not sure it’s for me, but what the heck – it looks like fun.
hmmm. I’m tempted. It would be nice to turn my netbook into a tablet for taking notes in class. Probably would be more useful if I was still taking math/science classes instead of history classes that are all standard character notes…
Still want one, not sure if I want one enough to buy it.
Anyone know how this compares to the lower end Wacoms?
I see your smiley, but I’m not sure what you’re saying. If the device is going to convert your laptop into a tablet PC, don’t you have to use the screen?
Damn. A205.
Definitely falls under the category of things I don’t need, but seriously considering getting it for use with my media center…like when I’m playing music on it and have company over. It’d be nice to be able to tap the screen to select songs and such.
Nowhere close, IMHO.
Wacom tablets, even their bamboo line, offer great sensitivity levels and features. Such as being able to move the cursor across the screen by hovering the pen close to the tablet.
I’d go for a bamboo tablet from wacom if you’re willing to shell out a little extra money. A lot more bang for your buck than this little dohickey.
How do these compare to graphics tablets for whiteboard applications?
Seems like it’d be a nice toy for the kids, especially at the price.
This is exactly why I’m not a mac. Why pay 3 times for a computer and limit yourself and compatibility in the process?
I’m with ya on that… but my media center TV is certainly bigger than 15.4"
I’m strongly considering getting this but I cant justify it. I bought a refurbed HP touchsmart from woot a year ago and have only used the touch features a few times. But I could use it on my Dell mini 10v notebook, then I wouldnt have to carry around a mouse with it. What to do?
No, you are a human… you use a mac
I’m a medical student, and I use a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch everyday to help me take notes in Microsoft OneNote. I love it. I’ve read around a little and there are several people who say that they’re better than this thing. (No having to mess around with calibration or writing in uncomfortable positions.)
The pen and touch (with touchpad functionality) is $100 a lot of places (eg, Best Buy); however, you can get just the “pen” version for less than $60 here:
