Wow. That an electronic digital thermostat can be sold for ten bucks really shows how much markup there is in high end Wifi “smart” thermostats.
Sure, they have to have more capable CPU’s, WiFi radios, etc… but those costs aren’t that great.
It’s basically an electronic switch that turns an HVAC fan + compressor or flame igniter on and off.
