i have owned on for several years now and I am extremely happy with it. i use it mostly on our tile kitchen floor. the hand held attachment is great for doing your car interior.
Went reading the reviews over at Amazon. While they are all primarily favorable (even some of the 1 star reviews speak highly of it), there are apparently some problems with plastic parts. A number of complaints about a plastic drive shaft for the brushes that is easy to break, becoming more likely the thicker your carpet.
Can any of you current owners comment on that?
I have a carpet cleaner, but it’s old, second hand, and slightly broken (locking mechanism broke so won’t stand upright). I’m interested in this, but don’t want to get something that’s going to break easily.
I have this cleaner, its a pretty decent cleaner, (not as great as the ones you can rent) but it does its job. I have very thick carpets and I haven’t had any problems. just make sure you clean it out after use.

I had a similar model from Hoover. The infamous plastic shaft broke on mine after a little over a year. It wasn’t used all that much, maybe once every couple months to spot clean. A dog started getting sick so it was used a couple times the preceeding week.
The replacement part was about $40. No sympathy from Hoover. The part is laughably small and after seeing it, I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did.
I thought that it cleaned well, until I bought a Bissell Big Green Machine. The BGM cleans 10x better than the Hoover. The only thing my wife misses is the rinse (water only) setting.
Don’t know anything about this model, was hoping Woot would have the Max Extract Pressure Pro Model 60. Mine needs a new dust filter and the guy I called said it’s gonna cost a ton to replace

My kitchen has tile floors. Will it work well with tile?

Time to check out the product page and good reviews (3.5 out of 5.0) over at bestbuy.com

It is not the same even though the number matches. See the green wheel below the handle. The product page one has only one wheel while the Woot’s one has two wheels. The one in Woot’s page only matches with the pictures in Walmart.
