Bought this here last year for my daughter’s birthday. She used it about 15 times. We charged it up this May to go for a ride (battery checks out just fine) and it won’t turn on. I’ve heard a lot of stories about issues like this with the cheap ones, but I didn’t think it would happen with a brand name. DO NOT BUY!!!
Bought my kids some hover-1 scooters and replacement parts are nonexistent from hover-1. Check their website and look at their parts section- probably nothing but chargers. I needed replacent handles because 2 broke when they fell over. Now i need the lcd throttle controller for 1 and it cant be found. Apparently the aftermarket units that look the same are wired different and programmed for the different controller, so not plug and play. And the pneumatic tires are horrible to fill and the tubes are a pain to replace. Hover-1 has zero support.
For @crashsite68 and @hondaman88 - You may already have tried to contact. Hope this helps.
- Bottom is a link to create a support ticket. Good luck.
@intrepid01 I have submitted a ticket and they said they don’t have the controller I need nor do they carry the handlebars (even though they have several models that appear to use the same parts). That was it. I also contacted about the recessed tire valve on the wheel with the motor. I couldn’t get ANY adapter to fit the tire valve to add air. Hover-1 said to take it to a bike shop and see if they could air it up. I’m not driving an hour 1 way to air up a leaking tire. Replaced it with a solid tire. It was a headache and involved boiling water, soapy water, gloves and lots of cursing.
As for airing up the tire, I found some valve extenders that thread on and are usually used for RV tires. I could thread that on, add air and remove it in less than a minute. So that helped.
Sorry, but Hover-1 support is near non-existent. You may get a reply, but that’s probably as far as it will go.
Take a look at their available parts, should tell you all you need to know about their product support. All of those scooters out there and about all they offer is chargers.
I was just trying to be helpful by sharing the DGL group as parent company and the support form request link. I do not have their product. Sorry yours is so problematic.
No problem, I understand. Nothing directed at you, just venting my experience. When they work, they’re great. But if something happens (like it falling over and snapping a handlebar off) then you’re **** out of luck.
