You couldn’t give me an HP printer with all the crap they do to prevent people from using NON HP ink.

I have a similar printer I was gifted. I can’t wait to replace it. HP basically makes the printer useless unless you actively enroll in their Instant Ink program, where you pay a monthly fee and they cap the number of pages you print. I have 3 sets of cartridges FROM HP that the printer won’t use because I refuse to pay a monthly fee.
This device is mostly useless, but if you have prime and a Staples account, you can occasionally (recycle this trash) and get a $50 dollar discount on a Brother Laser printer at Staples, and then get like 5$ per inkjet cartridge you recycle. I’m pretty sure if you don’t “Subscribe” you won’t be able to scan with the flatbed scanner even if you have the app or if it’s directly connected to your PC. I’m foaming at the mouth for the next BOGO deal on a brother laser printer at ANY retailer. My (working or NOT) HP stuff is going back to HP at their cost, and I’m done with them as a company from EVERY aspect. I was a HP certified repair tech from 2017-2021, and HP is as dead to me as the CrApple subscription bullstuff! RIP
I canceled my HP Ink and they keep emailing me to send back the cartridges since they won’t work anymore (due to me cancelling). Such a rip. I did only pay $40 for the printer 7ish years ago, so not a real big loss. We have a laser Brother we love and it works great!
15 Brother printers at the office – 5 inkjets, 7 lasers, 3 parts machines. One laser died when the wrong labels were fed in and it melted on the fuser, another lost a drive gear after nearly 160k pages, and one inkjet has a clogged head that needs a physical cleaning. Most have been running third party cartridges for years.
