Is this Win 11 compatible? If not, what’s the point?
From the specs:
I’ll let the community pipe in on your other question.
Will it run No Man’s Sky?
If you can coax the machine to even launch the game, it will not be a good experience. This machine only has the integrated graphics (iGPU) from the Skylake-era (circa 2016) Intel i5 chip, which would be akin to what an old, mid-tier laptop from that generation could manage.
To be clear, this is not a bad machine, and one could quite reasonably trick the software into allowing W11 to install. But it would be better as a simple media player, or basic desktop for e-mail or office work. Not really capable of gaming. And quite possibly a solid contender for an alternate Linux distro rather than Windows.
Happy gaming (but not likely on this)!
- Some folks don’t like Windows 11 anyway, so being compatible is of no extra value.
- Windows 10 will still be supported until October 2025.
- Workarounds exist anyway if one wants W11.
Most importantly, don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. For some folks, this is already a big improvement over what they’re currently using. Even with limited future support, it’s still better, and it can be had without breaking the bank.
FWIW, I just recently retired a 15 year old C2D era computer at work as the user retired too. Still have multiple 2nd/3rd/4th gen computers in service too as they’re already way more than sufficient for office applications. A 6th gen like this would be a step up already.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
Windows 11 sucks. You heard it here first.
