I’ve got one and yes it will spin if your counter isn’t completely smooth and dry. It has non-slip arcs on the bottom but the force needed to shred the chicken is usually more than the friction they provide, so you end up holding the base with one hand and pressing and turning with the other. It sort of works but you will still have to shred the larger pieces by hand or fork.
