Seems to be a great price and the replacement filters are affordable and available. But did anyone else who got this notice a very odd odor to the packing material? Not the unit itself which was wrapped in a plastic bag, thank goodness but the box had an immediate stench emitting upon opening it. And it seems to be the instruction manual and cardboard packing - smells like it’s been at the bottom of a pond for a few months lol
Replacement filter kit (3 pre’s & 1 HEPA) is about $40 on Amazon.
That’s reasonable. Like that it has a silvered pre.
After a shipping issue with UPS (sent to the next town over?!), we received our unit today. All looked good and the unit was nicely packaged and clean (not smelly out of the box), but after running for maybe 20-30 minutes we noticed a strong plastic smell, like maybe something is burning in the motor. Has anyone noticed this with their unit? Did I miss something while unboxing? Unfortunately it seems to be doing the exact opposite of what it is supposed to do!
Did this resolve? Got ours today and strong motor or burning smell after running less than an hr.

Hi there. These are new so it may just need time to air out.
The air purifier might be good but I don’t know because Hunter will not honor their 5 year warranty. They first said woot doesn’t sell new products, and now are saying woot isn’t an authorized retailer. Both are incorrect. There’s something very sketchy going on here.
Remind them that Woot is part of Amazon.
If that doesn’t work, reach out to Woot customer service for assistance.
thanks - yah I did but they dont care. They keep saying that woot isn’t authorized. So either woot was in the wrong saying it has a 5 year warranty, or hunter is being unscrupulous. I tend to think the latter
yah these hunter air purifiers are terrible. worse - hunter won’t honor their warranty.
