Can anyone that has this flashlight give good or bad comments for it. Was thinking about getting one for awhile
Imagine a boat that’s water-powered
So what is the “rechargeable” consumable item? This seems a bit improbable. Good luck.
It does work. Great emergency flashlight because the battery can’t lose charge over time. It works on the same principle as a lemon battery. The flashlight is powered by a galvanic cell created with zinc, copper, and a salt solution. The cell will stop producing power if the anode is fully oxidized or the solution dries out.
The one on Amazon says 600 hrs, the description here is 100, are they different types?
On the second picture that shows the packaging it does say 600 hours.
Shame on you Whoot. The one on Amazon includes 2 power modules for $14.95. Your discount listed from retail price is bogus. How can I trust you for anything?
So it is technically a battery, but requires the user to add the electrolyte…
Can the oxidation of the anode be reversed by traditional charging with DC current, or is this flashlight not designed for that?
Amazon price != MSRP.
Amazon is known for amazing deals and woot beats their price?! Wow!
I think their point was amazon may cost more but comes with two power modules… so depending on the cost of the power modules it maybe more cost efficient to buy on Amazon. I say cost efficient because it depends if you want another power module or if you think one will last awhile.
Anyone comment on how bright the torch is?
Reviews on the mother ship are mixed. Some simply hate it & some love it. I’m a big flashoholic. Not sure if it’s worth paying $10 for one fuel cell or getting two fuel cell batteries for $15 from mother ship! Will woot drop price since this comes with only one fuel cell?
How bright is this flashlight?
Based on the Amazon reviews, reading the first page only, the buyers seem happily surprised with their purchase.
Add says 80 to 100 lumens. Amazon buyer-users report about 1/10th that i.e. under 10 lumens.
The battery is reportedly able to recharge 3 times then kaput.
If you think about how little output an electrolyte battery can put out, the end user reviews are what is believable.
