What is the country of origin for these frying pans?
Are these cast iron with the pitting machined/cast in, or cast iron with a layer of non-stick material?
Why is the coating material not listed? Red flag.
Not listed on Amazon either. Found this in the Q&A:
This is on Amazon:

These are “honeycomb pressed cast iron” skillets, and they are from China. I own a set from another company and have looked at several others - the only difference being the handles. Here is a link to the same pan with a different handle on AliExpress:

Yes, these are coated with a product called Xylan from Whitford. The inside coating appears to be Xylan and the exterior appears to be enamel. BTW - Xylan is an excellent coating for pots and pans. Here is a link to information about Xylan:
The answer to the big question is YES, I love these pans and use them regularly. The base material is pressed cast iron so it heats evenly and retains heat very well. The hottest setting on my stove I’ve ever had to use for routine cooking is 5-6/10; the only time I’ve ever gone to 10/10 is for bringing something up to the boiling point, which is very infrequently in a skillet. The honeycomb pattern is excellent for cooking and I find it superior to “Hexclad” non-stick pans.
There was a project on Kickstarter that sold these pans with their own custom handles a few years back. There was a row in the Comments section where the creator kept insisting that the pans were only coated in food-safe seasoning oil but others showed examples of identical pans (but with different handles) available from Ali Express and other Chinese sites. Most if not all of the nay-sayers were kicked off the project and their funding returned to them just to get them off the discussion. To see the original campaign you can go to the Kickstarter website and search “Buccaneer Skillet”.
In my view a non-stick coated skillet or two is just part of my cooking arsenal of tools, so if I were going to have one I may as well have one I really liked.
