Iomega 80GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive

Is this a 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive? No dimensions on this thing???

Perfect for a college student about to head off to academia…I’m buying this, and returning the Staples external hard drive. Wooty-toot-toot!

I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time. I just bought a Western Digital just like it today at Office Max. I’ll have to wait on my rebate, but it will end up being 59.99. 80GB may not seem like a lot to most of you, but it is a lot to me.

If you’re going to do that just buy the 400GB drive and get a $20 enclosure.

isn’t this cheaper??? wouldn’t that make this a better deal???

Not a good deal at all…only 80gb…and Iomega products suck. I picked up a 160gb drive from slickdeals for 65 shipped, got a usb 2.0 case for 19 onsale at compgeeks. twice the capacity for 25 bucks more…and its not Iomega.

I’m still pissed about my broken subs…

Ehh…no thanx.

My thoughts, exactly. Only difference might be that the other may be new?

Mail in rebates SUCK. your an idiot

Hey !!! haven’t seen you in a while…
If you have time, come to the Post Whore thread and chat.

If not…hope all goes well with you!!

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it does need external power, but I’ve been wrong before.

YAY!!! I cant wait to get mine in the mail…fill it up with DVD bootlegs… i mean documents

Wooteriffic!!! Got one…

The similar drives I saw on Froogle included a power adapter. So I would almost guarantee it’s a 3.5 inch drive.

I’d rather do a MIR than buy a refurb.

Iomega does NOT suck as someone else has mentioned, but this is not a great deal…$34.99 or less would be a great (WOOT) deal for a refurbished 80gb external drive.

Sure it would, but the point of the matter is to show that what used to be considered amazing deals here on woot can be no longer considered amazing, but rather, just ok. If you take into effect the rush of blood through the head at deciding whether or not to buy this right now (as one never knows when this will sell out, or whether a better deal may arise tomorrow, or even if one may be making a stupid decision tha is purely based on the fear of the product being sold out, without considerin alternatives, which require time and effor), it may be worth to wait a bit longer, with the advantages clearly pointing to the positively probabilistic chance of ending up with a better deal elsewhere.

Anyways, this is much like a game of chance, and as everyone has a different sense for market conditions, this may or may not seem like a logical and deductive buy…the decision is hence subjective, with value givn by the buyee only.
