Looking for feedback from folks that have used these. I’ve seen some videos of plant enthusiasts who do. Thoughts?
While I haven’t used this particular brand, I did use some grow bags for tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and squash this year; I mulched some, I left others bare just to gauge evaporation rates. Next year I will be mulching them all as they do dry quickly once the weather crested 90° and my garden saw 8+ hours of sun per day. They were great in that I could make the soil mix that I wanted to and move the plants around if I needed to (or cram them real close to maximize garden space). They also worked well for transporting loose compost.
Agree. I used them for potatoes and they did pretty well. It’s nice to be able to dump them out and put them in the garage for the winter like a regular flower pot.
Ditto regarding the drying out quickly comment; as my plants needed constant watering. They are handy in that you can move the plants around rather easily as needed.
I know it is moving n2 winter, but these felt pots r great! Even 4 indoors. I just relocated all my green pepper plants from outside 2 indoors n these pots…a must 4 avid growers!
We are starting our peak growing season here. One thing I noticed is that ants can get through the bottom. Some of my sweet potatoes were damaged. I am going to put the bags on concrete blocks to hopefully avoid that and the bunnies.
Ordered more bags from the mothership and will be here this week so I can start my lettuce and carrots. Still too warm for the Brussel sprouts and cabbage though.
PS.The sweet potatoes were yummy.
water moat for the ants like they do on hummingbird feeders?
The monsters sneak up from the bottom, and you couldnt tell that they were there. Though thats an idea for my earthboxes and other plastic containers. Will keep them from crawling up the sides.
