JACK LINKS Peppered Beef Jerky, 1.25 oz

JACK LINKS Peppered Beef Jerky, 1.25 oz

Huh? Five bucks for a one-ounce bag? That’s like 3x more expensive than on Amazon and is how much 3-ounce bags cost at the grocery store.

And people are actually buying?

I think if you look up the ASIN it corresponds to, it is supposed to be this x10 I think? I am not sure honestly, it has to be a multipack from what I am guessing. I bought one in the hopes it is what it should be (since I like the jerkeh).

I believe from photos and such it should be 10 packs

I can see that the listing has been modified recently and also all recent reviews say they only got 1 bag. Other listings for 10-packs of 1.25 oz bags are in the $20-30 range.

Yeah if it is just one it is a huge ripoff. I am wondering if I should try and jump ship, lol.

I’m gonna go ahead and guess that since there’s no mention of 10-pack on the page here, the people buying this are doing the “bought a 10-pack, only got 1” scam to get 3 free bags of jerky from customer service. Yes, this is a known scam tactic against Amazon/Woot that you can find discussed online.

I just can’t see 1.25 oz being 7 or 5 dollars though, it is a headscratcher.

The listing states for 1 bag so unless it’s expired you can’t complain about not getting order it’s more so hope you did not over pay for one and it’s actually 10 from comparison of numbers to what mothership listing is…. I saw jerked my husband would like and grabbed it cause how fast it usually goes and hope taking the chance was worth it. :face_with_peeking_eye::woman_shrugging:

Hello all. We’re listing and pricing this as a single bag because Amazon has broken apart the multipack. Expect one. Google shows our price is on par with other places for a single bag.

Per Amazon:

Size: 0.13 Ounce (Pack of 10)

Package Size: NET WT. 1.25 OZ. (35g)

Therefore:

10 pieces @ 0.13 Ounce each equals 1.30 Ounces

0.13 Ounce could simply be 0.125 rounded up

0.125 Ounce times 10 pieces equals 1.25 Ounces or one package

It’s a theory… if true, it’s a confusing way for Amazon to list the size.

I won’t protest too loudly, but will say it isn’t great pricing only due to Woot!s own previous pricing of the jerkeh (which I purchase regularly). An example (or the last jerkeh item I purchased):

This was 3.99 and it is about 3.12 oz total. Just for reference why I didn’t think it was just 1.25 oz for 5 dollhairs.

Sorry, but Jack Link’s jerky simply doesn’t cost $64 ($93 on Amazon) per pound anywhere. That’s literally 2-3x more expensive than other listings and store prices. I’m a big jerky consumer and keep track of this stuff.

Look:

($26.84 per pound)

($39.74 per pound)

And that’s before coupons and/or Subscribe and Save discounts, which remove another 15-25%.

I get the whole “convenience-size pricing premium” thing, but no matter what the Amazon listing says, a 1.25 ounce bag of Jack Link’s jerky doesn’t cost $7.27. It’s $3 at ShopRite, and $6.50 gets you a 2.85 ounce bag.

Amazon’s using a broken listing that was previously used for a 10-pack of the stuff. I’ve had the same thing happen with other brands I bought, e.g. a listing that was previously a 4-pack suddenly sending 1 unit (for like $16), and when I complained, they simply changed the listing to say 1 unit instead while keeping the price.

This is the one it happened to:

You can see people complain about it in the recent reviews too.
