Such a great idea!
My only pause is that it’s made for indoor use.
Would like to use this outdoors as well.
I actually bought two of these back in 2021 when Texas had the winter storm and while we brought the dog and cat in during the night, it was still pretty chilly out and I did use them outdoors. However, I placed them in a pillow case and then put it in their dog and cat house which both are next to the back door, on our large concrete back porch that is completely roofed. So the chance of it getting messed up, wet, or destroyed was extremely slim. I would probably advise against it if you have a dog that is a chewer, or a shedder.
But it’s come in handy. I have a 16 yr old Yorkie who does not like a cold leather couch so when we start putting up our heated blankets up, we pull this out. And I have no clue how they do it, but it will be plugged in and if no one is on it, it’s cool, then I put a 5lb dumbbell on it, and it was only warm where the dumbbell was.
We do inspect the one in the dog house regularly and it will get put up soon once we get past the cool nights cuz the days are already in the mid 80s.
Just be diligent about inspecting it especially if you have a younger dog or one who enjoys destroying things.
These only get extra warm where weight is planed on them although something as light as a pillow will make them heat up. I have an older cat and I cannot suggest it enough, although I’d advise using foam or something else as a barrier between the pad and the animal in addition to fabric.
