Good utility knife. A thicker, less delicate version of the Kershaw Leek (have both). Leek reportedly often snap at the very tapered tip. I use my Zing. I keep the Leek in a drawer.
-
The Leek (top) came sharper, but it was a significantly thinner blade. The Leek unlike the Zing has a lock at base of handle to keep it closed if carried in pocket. 14C28N high-performance stainless steel (which is harder and holds better edge retention though tip may also chip easier).
-
The Zing (bottom) is heavier. Has a pseudo hilt (better grip). Can be sharpened further to be more like a Leek. Has a slightly lower grade but still decent 8Cr13MoV blade steel. Chinese made steel similar to 440B and AUS-8.
Leeks at least used to be made in the USA. My Zing was made in China. Both were well-made with the above different strengths.
Nice review.
I’ve carried a leek for yrs, got a Kershaw Launch 1 for Christmas for my EDC for now.
Kershaws are great knives.
