I thought I’d leave a review in case this comes up again and someone is curious.
It feels substantial. I’m not thrilled with the little Bluetooth/off/Cable slider switch, but I can’t complain until/if it fails.
I like the key action. I can type well on this.
It works well connected by Bluetooth and by USB cable.
It came with keycaps for both Mac and Windows and a tool to easily change them. It’s also got alternative keyboard layouts that I haven’t played with.
My biggest disappointment is that the symbols on the keys are not illuminated. The backlight is just under the keys. It’s purely ornamental (except under the num lock key).
Still, I’m going to use it. I’ll just turn off the backlight. If you can’t type by touch and plan to use your keyboard in a dark room, this may not be for you.
Similar thoughts, since I have purchased a few Keychron devices now. I mostly rely on a different model, from the same line - K8
The functionality option slider does feel a bit weak, but I primarily leave mine in wired mode.
As to key feeling and key caps, it’s a very subjective experience, and the topic of massive discussions among keyboard enthusiasts - I’ve liked the Gateron switches that I have, and I have gone ahead and swapped some of the keycaps to allow for better illumination of certain keys. This can be quite inexpensive, or be super-custom, and cost a ton. But that depends a lot on your needs and budget. However, there are plenty of “pudding” style caps online that allow shine-through for each key, and have a diffused layer around the base, so that the light spill around the key bed is very strong and dynamic.
Just some similar thoughts, and some feedback, in case it helps you or anyone else looking at these. I do like this better than my RK, Razer, GMMK boards. Perhaps a little less than my Ducky, but that’s not a fair comparison ![]()
Had to wait for my PC setup to test this keyboard but not really happy. Some keys are not working properly. Have to press it multiple times and then it shows that character typed multiple times. Definitely not good for a programmer.
Not happy at all.
