Should you actually decide to go through with your plan, I would love for you to go further with your analysis of the impact of it on your chickens. Not only on the count of their output of eggs but also on how it impacts the quality. What about the morale of your chickens? How has their behavior changed since the posting of the image?
If you’re getting a higher volume of eggs but of a lower quality, and the chickens are clearly having a negative response, you have to ask yourself: “<Insert poultry-centric witticism here relating to the relationship between value and cost… Something something, in this egg-omy?!?>.”
