I got these a few months ago. They’re awesome if you don’t need Bluetooth.
Damn fine speakers. This price, not so much.
I bought mine two years ago for $70 at Walmart, and r/buildapcsales shows sales this past year that are far better than Woot’s current ~$10 off.
I also got these a few months ago & would call them pretty good. Using it with my desktop computer. I like good clean tight bass, and find this system a little boomy/muddy. Mids & highs nice and clean! Also don’t like not having an on/off switch on the pod. I would probably look for something else next time.
Got these about a week ago for a similar price. Great speakers and good sub.
I first bought this set up over 15 years or so. Used it everyday with several different computers. It finally gave up the ghost, and I didn’t think twice about replacing it with the same set up.
You can control the bass output from one of the satellite speakers to tune it to your taste.
Love this grouping from from Klipsch.
Now will it awe your friends, family and lovers from afar?
Who cares!
It’s under $100, lasts a long time, gives great sound and in this time of inflation…it’s simply a great buy. Ten bucks here or there is irrelevant.
I have these on my daughter’s gaming PC and fired it up after a month while she’s in college. Speakers sound great and the adjustable bass knob is a bonus allowing you to dial up how much vibration goes through the floors. Repeating the previous comment that I’ve been using this particular brand for over 20 years now as the design from the earlier years has vastly improved the life of the speakers. My very first set suffered from a bad 6-pin power connection
I was just coming to say this, $100 for this system is not a deal.
My AudioEngine A2 power supply just died, and to replace that, it’s like $40-60, so I’ll be looking into these speakers now. Sad that the external power supply requirements for those AudioEngine’s are so non-standard. I can’t find an off the shelf replacement as the requirements are quite unique.
I’ve coveted this set since I started building PCs in the mid 90s, but once I could afford them, I found I no longer needed them.
I’ve done all my gaming via console for some time, and my home theater system is much better than this set. The only other non-BT music playing I do is my workstation (WFH), and a Logitech Z313 set is more than capable of playing crisp low-volume background music.
If you’re doing your gaming at a desk and need a set soon for some reason, you could do worse. If you have a little time, keep your eye out for better deals (fairly common). If you don’t need the extra volume/bass, spend less than half as much for a lower-tier set (Logitech is my favorite).
Could it be a different Model? Maybe those were deals on earlier versions?
These sell for $141 on Klipsch site, $20 less on Newegg, and About $104 on Amazon.
The Amazon deal might be good if you want “Brand New”. However, If you have Honey, it is promising another $19 cashback if you take the Woot! Deal.
Be sure that you log out and back in to your Honey account when you see those pop-up in the corner. I’ve clicked on them when they show an hour or whatever time is left for the deal only to find out that it never went through. At the least if you click on the deal, click on the honey extension to make sure the the deal has been registered before checkout. Their CS is not as friendly as Woot’s and will ignore you even if you have proof that you activated the deal.
I believe they are mixing these up with the non thx version of the 2.1 which look identical to these with the exception of the missing thx logo.
IIRC the walmart version of these has bluetooth, is not THX certified, and is noticably inferior to the TXH unit, which this is. This one is $130 at newegg right now, so it’s an OK deal IMO, not great.
I haven’t used Honey, but use Rakuten a lot.
Rakuten service has been really good. They’ll usually credit you in advance, and reverse it if their further investigation warrants so. I had anything credited then taken away.
Sorry I didn’t see your response earlier, but my speakers have the same THX badge on the front that these have. It’s not bluetooth either.
