I have this speaker setup, great sound.

I’ve never heard of the Klipsch company. Anyone know their reputation? To me they sound like a post Soviet Eastern Bloc tech company.

I bought these in a previous Woot for $204.99. I love em!! I picked up a Polk PSW10 from $120 on Amazon and with the Denon AVR 1312 (which I also got from woot) they sound pretty good and its gotta nice thump. Now only if Woot would stop lowering the price, I wouldnt keep getting buyer’s remorse. Throw me a coupon or something already!

how great? like they might actually at one point have been worth $600? or just like a good surround sound system?

If I buy one of these today, what are the chances tomorrow’s Woot will be…oh, nevermind.
<----Hey Woot, why only one quality post?

<----Not an avatar. That’s an actual photo.

I sold audio/video equipment professionally for a very long time, and I can’t even begin to tell you how many sets of these I recommended to customers. They’re fantastic for their size and price, easily out-performing similar speakers…and those really small expensive ones that claim to be the best :P.

Pair them up with a Klipsch downward firing powered subwoofer and a good receiver, I typically recommend Yamaha and they never disappoint.

Fantastic purchase for anyone in confined quarters or trying to get their first component surround system set up. They’re easily good enough for your living room, but can transition to the bedroom or a secondary listening area if you ever decide to upgrade. Buy them.

American company, been around for ages. Pretty much in the same range as Polk and Infinity–basically the mid- to higher-end of mass consumer/package store brands.

Um… They’re a very, very reputable brand well known for quality.

Paid 400.00 for and weel worth the money at that price! These speakers ROCK!

Pretty damn sure this is the correct User Manual for this thing.

Hope it helps.

I was at a friends home July 4th who had bought it at $205. The sound was amazing from oldies to Aero Smith played very loud. I have a good musical ear, for good reasons. I’m going to transfer funds into the ATM in the morning that I use only 4 online shopping. Most Woot Îm nearing 250 buys not counting the multiples ans its incredily rare the couple of times I wasnt happy. Go Google it with the model no. and you’ll be convinced. When I only or mostly find many other ‘great deal’ sites raving about the deal here they speak for themselves too. The way I do it and I haven’t been burnt by Woot. Just saying…

Klipsch has been around since the 1940’s. They are a U.S. company. I bought a pair of computer speakers with subwoofer by Klipsch a few years ago at Bestbuy… I could not be happier with my purchase. I find that the sound is better than Bose and is a lot less expensive. And I have put them to the test.

Paul Klipsch did pioneering work on horn speakers in the 40’s, and held a number of fundamental patents. He was a Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society. Search for ‘Klipschorn’ and see what you find!

I had these speakers for a couple days. I bought them on sale a big box retailer you all know for about $380. They were great. The only reason I didn’t keep them was that I found someone selling their big brother, the Quintet SL on Craiglist for about the same price. That upgrades the left, center, and right channel to beefier albeit larger speakers but the surrounds are exactly the same. I mainly wanted to improve stereo music with more mid-range and a smoother transition between sub and speakers. For movies there’s probably not much difference.

I’ve had the Quintet SL paired with a Klipsch Sub-10 subwooofer mated to a Sony amp for four years and they are fantastic. For the money, you can’t go wrong. I haven’t even felt the urge to upgrade, though I have thought about picking up another pair of the satellites to move from a 5.1 to a full 7.1 setup.

For the people who doubt the Klipsch name, shame on you. They have a stellar reputation and are an extremely innovative American company. Just type Klipsch into Wikipedia and your doubts will be quelled rather quickly.

I’m just pissed that every time Woot has this set up for bids I don’t have the money for them! Been wanting a setup like this one for months now :frowning:

In for a set. When do the matching SW-350 or SW-450 subs show up on woot?

Darn you WOOT, you keep making me buy some thing. In for one.

My home is becoming a “WOOT” palace every place I look …

I hv a Denon rcvr rated at 100 watts per channel. R rcvr ratings listed at peak or RMS? In other words, can I use these speakers with my rcvr or will I just blow them out?
