I had red variant of this unit that I wanted to convert into a Nuka-Cola themed fridge. It burned out within three weeks before I even had the chance to start the project. Pretty bummed.
I am of the opinion that it pulls too much condensation out of the air at the thermoelectric plate, which drips down into the circuitry, shorting itself out.
