Lake Champlain Chocolate, 100 Piece

Lake Champlain Chocolate, 100 Piece

I don’t know why they won’t just tell you this directly, but I think if the chocolates are roughly 11 grams each, there’s about 1.1 kilograms per jar. So a little less than 2.5 pounds, and therefore a little more expensive than $20/lb.

Which isn’t particularly expensive for decent chocolate. Sure, you can get Hershey kisses for anywhere between $4 and $6/lb when buying in bulk, but even a decent chocolate like Ghiradelli goes for over $20/pound when buying in those individual serving squares.

I saw it as 50¢/square. I’m familiar with the product–that’s a bargain. It’s high quality chocolate from a small Vermont business. I would expect local stores to ask $1/square and only find this price at the factory outlet in Burlington, VT.
Another Vermont business that shows up here often: Fat Toad Farm caramel from tiny little Brookfield, VT.
Alternate these with Ben & Jerry’s and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. We keep Vermonters employed; they keep the world fat and happy!:chocolate_bar::gift_heart::ice_cream::coffee::grin::heart::fallen_leaf:

Lake Champlain is very good chocolate, they have made holiday chocolate gift tins for Williams Sonoma and Crate and Barrel. I particularly loved a peanut butter cup gift tin they did for C&B a few years ago.

These look like the squares they sell by the register at Whole Foods, perhaps they’re clearing out inventory due to lower foot traffic in stores.

The price is reasonable, and about half what WF charges, but just high enough to give me pause. If they were filled rather than solid chocolate squares, I’d buy two
