I rarely do well with refurbs
Any arguments against taking a scratch and dent instead ?
The the batteries might be dead. I don’t think the specs are good unless you need a laptop at this price.
In general I feel that the S&D laptops I’ve bought have been in better shape than S&D smartphones. Beyond that, though, I’d avoid this laptop just based on specs alone, like masterdgk1 wrote. If you were running a lightweight Linux distro, however, it may be tolerable, but I couldn’t bear to run Win11 on this hardware.
The specs on this laptop report that the memory is soldered in place. You wouldn’t be able to bump up the ram. Windows 11 must run like crap with these specs.

When you select either version, next to the price, it still says “refurbished”.
So I think both versions are refurbished, it’s just that the cheaper one is a more scratched up refurbished unit than the other one!
Could be a decent burner laptop. Use for one vacation overseas, throw away.
Might be nice if you have equipment that requires a pc to operate, then you can keep it all in one place. Vagcom for working on volkswagen comes to mind. Cant beat the price.
According to Lenovo’s site, this is a Chromebook. Not sure why they list Windows 11 Home as the OS. Like Wooter3… said, Windows 11 would be horrible with those stats.
Ah. I stand corrected. The Windows version must run everything at slideshow speeds.

Would this work well as either a Jellyfin media server or writerdeck?
Mine coming in 2moro. Agreed, specs are awful for windows 11. I’m getting away from windows. I’m buying it to install Linux mint distro on it as a trial. If it goes well, I plan to keep on ditching windows on everything else I use except apple products.
You might want to try something even lighter on resources. I have a Lenovo with AMD’s equivalent to this Celeron and the same 4GB RAM / 64GB eMMC – Mint felt taxing on it. MX Linux faired much better so that’s what it’s running now.
I have Ventoy on a USB stick, which makes distro sampling quite easy.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
