This actually looks OK.
What am I missing?
I wanna know if I can put a BluRay drive in this. As long as it offers an empty bay, I think I’m grabbing one.
FYI, the expansion/display ports referenced in the pic are not represented in the specs. Go with the specs…
This is an Intel Core i3. No thrill there…
An i3 is better than those celeron and pentium machines woot also sells.
Or an i7-9700 if you spring for the higher-spec variant.
I think it is a reasonobly good deal. I mean we’re talking about 9th generation i7 and i3 chips… It’s really not that old and actually new enough to be eligible for windows 11. Not that I would necessarily even choose to upgrade to Windows 11 but often that’s a limitation people are looking at if they choose something that’s not at least 8th gen.
It’s obviously not going to be cutting edge but you’re not going to get any cutting-edge products for 2 to 300 bucks. This will perform better than probably like a laptop with a 10th gen chip… Mostly just because of the thermals. And those are still being sold a brand new in major retailers.
Beyond official W11 support, there’s one other aspect about Intel 8th gen and newer – and that’s competition. This was the time that AMD Ryzen rolled out; while Zen(1) didn’t beat Intel in single thread performance, it came close enough to put them on notice. More importantly, it meant Intel had to increase the performance and value across the lineup to remain a step ahead – and that meant no more getting by with only quad-core i7 or dual-core i3 on the desktops.
For comparison, the entry-level i3-9100 offered performance comparable to the i5-7600, an upper-midrange processor from just 2 years prior.

(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
An external one for sure.
