The problem I have with these holders is that they don’t hold the phone unless you strip it of it’s protective casing. Then the phone is vulnerable. I have not found a holder yet that holds more than the bare phone. So no phone in a holder in the car!
How thick a case do you have?! In the decade+ I’ve been using phone holders, I’ve never had to remove a case. I’ve had suction cups fail, dash adhesive melt, and springs break, but never needed to remove a case.

Every time I use a vent clip to clip my phone I end up with either a broken clip or vent I replaced 2 freaking vents before I banned them from my cars on pain of a beating with said cup holder
Yeah I have one now that sucks to the windshield my phone won’t work in it because I have a big bee ring stuck to the back but my sis has a plain ring and it works great
I got the AmazonBasics CD slot mounted holder a couple years ago. I’ve been really happy with that. I have a Pixel 7 Pro now, which is not a small phone, with a Spigen case and it fits and is held in place just fine.
Not sure how many cars have a CD player these days. My CD player was broken anyways so no loss of functionality for me.
Y’know what works really well for me? Putting my phone away and paying attention to driving.
And before people jump all over me about navigation, I can put my phone in nav mode and just listen to the directions. Works just fine.
I use magnetic phone holders, seem way better than the clamp ones.
Where does the cup go on this Cup Holder?
AFAF
I have the CD slot one too and it works great for me. Holds my galaxy S23 Ultra with case with no problems.
I would worry about wrecking the CD player, unless you don’t play CD’s…

Nah it only goes in like a centimeter and it has a pad on it. I honestly didn’t think it would work well for me since I go down a lot of dirt roads with big pot holes and its never fallen out once. I use it CDs in use all the time too. I check out audio books from the library and listen to them while its in. No problems what so ever.
