have one its very nice buying another
I really want one, but I don’t have a tv and don’t think that I have enough time to watch enough tv to make it make sence. But I really want one.
bought my dad this from best buy a while back ago…pretty good so far no problems with it…paid more for mine though…good woot!
As far as liteOn do the usually not have a firmware modification to play divx? Or perhaps burn faster?
Firstly… is anything extra needed to make this thing do awesome things that most people don’t think about?.. cuz i bet it could be very useful… but i’m not a pro with these things… secondly… the usefullinkage blog will be updated about 2 hours late due to unforseen circumstances… 3rdly… i heart the wooties… fourfly… nevermind… its updated now…
Does this thing play DVDs as well?
The “Just Fit” feature basically calculates the amount of disk space you have left and reduce the quality/file size until it fits into the space available.
Should not be a problem, I played some DL discs in a cheap DVD player and it had no problems.
Does this thing support dual layer burning?
I’ve had this recorder for over a year. Paid $100 for it then and it has worked great. Very simple, easy to use with not one bad burn yet.
And yes, it does play DVD’s also.
A Liteon??? who in the right mind would buy this!
Here are some similiar LiteOn DVD Recorder models
This would be the perfect solution to recording Heroes tonight, since the fiancee won’t let me watch it without her. <_<
To woot or not to woot… such a tough decision.
No such luck. Most consumer recorders are going to HD-DVD or Blueray.
It’s a dual DVD recorder (meaning it records to both DVD R, RW, and DVD -R, -RW). Don’t get it confused with Dual Layer technology.

We’ll see later if I’m still interested.
Willowbend
hey sweet now I can record…bowling and…fishing tournaments…cause I’m too lazy to actually go out and do these things…
Oh no, Dave already something similar nearly 3 months ago, way to offer this thing now Woot…
What do you guys expect for 70 bucks? This beats the heck out of a VHS VCR and will carry you until the Blue-Ray prices drop to the bearable range. I’d love to buy a 2003 Corvette for 10 grand, but I had to settle for a Durango instead. Just call me a realist.
I have one of these too… and I agree, it’s slow. Takes a while to load a disc, to change chapters, etc… but if you’re fine with that, it does its job.
