Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil for iPad Pro

Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil for iPad Pro

This is a great price. I have an Apple pen, this logitec gen 1 crayon and gen 2 crayon. Logitec gen 2 is my favorite because it is usb c and hace intuitive on/off switch. I did buy a gen 1 for my son because of the orange tip. It is easy to spot on carpets and counter tops.

I like both crayons much more than the pencil. Not having to pair is the best feature over the apple pencil. I can use it on one iPad, go to the next iPad and it just works. You can also use two crayons on one iPad simultaneously but you can’t use two apple pencils on one iPad at once.

The only things that apple pencil have over these crayons are pressure sensitivity and magnetically attached and charged.

I also have a Meko stylus. $9 and works on all touch screens. It doesn’t have palm rejection unlike these Apple approved (monopolized?) pens/crayons. But it is cheap and always works.

This stylus works on all iPad 2018 and above. We have an iPad Air 3, M1 pro, 2020 pro, it works on all of them.

Thanks for your review. I have an Apple Pencil 2, but have thought about getting a cheaper one that I could travel with (less boo-hoo if you lose it). The Logitech Crayon gets high marks from many reviewers so I’ve been tempted by it. Hopefully the battery on these refurbs still have plenty of life.

When I ordered one of these when it was $34.99, I was sent what looked to be a brand new gen 2 instead of a refurbished gen 1. So, I can’t tell you how long a refurb battery might last.

While I wasn’t unhappy to get a brand new gen 2 for the price of a refurb gen 1, I had to go to ebay to order my son a gen 1 crayon anyway because of the orange rubber tip. Gen 2 doesn’t come with any rubber tip, what a shame. I ended up keeping the gen 2 for myself which I use more often than the apple pencil.

You might find the on/off switch on these annoying. It is a one button that does it all. Press and hold for one second and it turns on. Press and hold for another second and it turns off. But there is no light indicator to tell whether it is currently power on or off. You have to press the power button again (press but don’t hold) if the light comes on then you know it’s on. Gen 2 on/off switch fixes this problem.

Cheaper on the mother ship, even with the coupon: Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil for All Apple iPad Pros (2018 Or Later) - Orange (Renewed) https://a.co/d/2W5xK25

Good tip. But that’s from Electro Store LLC, and may not be refurbished or “renewed” to the same standards. I’m wary of purchases and returns with third parties, some have given me grief about a “free return.”

Thanks. Good points. This one says shipped by Amazon, so I believe that’s safer than it would be otherwise as far as returns are concerned. Also, it’s listed as meeting the Amazon refurbished standards.
Did you see who the one from Woot was refurbished by?

Good find. I’d like to add that logitech crayons work on all iPads 2018 and above. This is also why I like it more than the Apple pencil. I can use the crayon on my iPad Air 3 (only works with Apple Pencil 1) and iPad Pro M1 (only works with Apple pencil 2). It also works on iPad 9th gen. It is a bit confusing because crayon gen 1 has lightning connector and gen 2 has usb-c but both gens work on all iPad 2018 and above unlike the apple pencils.

Unless you’re seeing something that I don’t, this listing doesn’t state who refurbished… Not by logitech, that would be identified as " Factory reconditioned."

Well, FWIW I received a “gen2” USB-C model (silver & gray; power switch not button) from the refurb vendor. Refurbs of this model on the mothership are $15-$20 more. \o/

So far so good, no pairing process needed and works great. Thank you, Woot!
