Logitech K400 Wireless Touch Keyboard

Logitech K400 Wireless Touch Keyboard

A video review from 2015, which mentions that it’s Semi-Mac compatible? Also, he touts the new price as $20, and they are not available on Amazon, nor is the original price…
$7 for the keyboard and $12 (Amazon price), for the unifying receiver?

19.99 brand new at best buy right now

still might be a deal

It’s 19.99 at Best Buy for the old K400 not the K400 Plus. Best Buy hasK400 Plus for 24.99

I use two of these, one at work as a portable keyboard/mouse solution when I need physical access to a server, and one at home for my Raspberry Pis. It works great, the keyboard is a bit cramped but no worse than a small laptop, and the touchpad is basic but decent. In over two years of intermittent use with both I’ve never had to change the batteries.

I’ve also used the one at home for controlling a home entertainment PC and it worked fine out to 20 feet (length of my living room) with no loss of signal.

I had one of these; didn’t use it much, but one day it just stopped working. Also, the distance between the keyboard and the USB port needed to be pretty close. Didn’t work well for linking to my TV due to that.

The units are mac compatible!

This keyboard is not officially supported on Mac. The track pad is not usable with any of the five Macs in my house. It scrolls way too fast and choppy to be of any value when trying to read a web page. If you’re okay with that, it’s a good keyboard.

ETA: This keyboard is available brand new at my local Staples for $24.99. Not seeing this as much of a deal.

Why buy a Refurb unit from Woot when for just a couple of dollars more you can pickup a Brand New unit at Best Buy or other retailers. Plus if you buy at Best Buy locally, no shipping cost and no shipping time. In this case, Woot’s price is too high IMHO.

I have several of these. It’s my go-to keyboard when I want a compact keyboard/mouse(touchpad) combo for something like a raspberry pi, but I wouldn’t want to write a dissertation on it.

For this price, I’d opt to buy it new at somewhere like Best Buy. Lots of moving parts and switch contacts that might not get fully tested when being refurbed…

We have one. You won’t wish to use it as a daily driver, but it is handy for using with a smart TV, especially that touchpad.

If you watch for deals, this price or even a buck or two lower can be found for a new unit instead of refurb.

I’m typing on this keyboard right now, and use it both for my home office and my HTPC (usually from about 12-feet away). It works just fine on Windows.

Someday I’ll get a wireless keyboard with a number pad. But for the money, this is good enough.

yes, woot really dropped the ball on this one. I’d rather pay $7 more for brand new than refurb with the added bonus of getting it immediately rather than a week later.

I use several of these on PCs and Macs. They do well for a HTPC setup. I have had no distance issues. I agree with the price being a little steep for a refurb.

I’ve got one of these and I love it. I have a computer connected to my TV and it’s the perfect setup to be able to use this from the couch.

No bluetooth support?

It is a great keyboard for a HTPC NUC…Does not power on the CPU remotely but I absolutely love this for running my “apps” for video viewing…et al…

Big enough to type on…URL addresses…Mouse built in for guiding through windows…

Small enough not to be cumbersome…

On/Off switch to turn keyboard power on/off to conserve battery and essentially once you have navigated to where you want to go…Just turn the switch and set I down until need for the next video…

25 feet distance…Best keyboard for this purpose…

Sorry, no.

Connection type: Logitech unifying protocol 2.4GHz

It can wake the computer though, for what it’s worth. I use mine with a computer on my TV as well, so I just put it to sleep instead of shutting it down.

My NUC is slightly older and does not “sleep well”…And leaving it on…The fan runs a lot because of having an earlier I7…

When they get the 7nm transistor down which will decrease power consumption…aka heat…by 35%…Then NUC’s will be the rage…

They are nice now…But will be much better in the future…

That Logic Supply company out of Vermont actually makes the whole top of their unit a “heat sink”…Either under a monitor like the “new Lenovo’s” or attached to the bracket on the back VESA attach spot of the monitor work in an all-in-one like applications works also…
