I remember when gas was 60 cents a gallon. I also remember all the problems when it went over $1 and the pumps didn’t go that high. Had to double the price.

How do I know? The “Logi” branding is recent. You might’ve bought something LIKE this 20 yrs ago, but not this model.
Newer models are supported by Options+. I have an old Logitech T650 rechargeable trackpad that works great, but I can’t customize it with Options+. I also love my Trackman Voyager, and miss using my Mouseman Cordless 2 (PS/2; used CR123 battery I think) bought at Comdex Atlanta so many eons ago (similar to 1, 2). So it goes.

This is the 2002/2008 model. We’re almost in 2025, so yeah, he’s correct because 17 years is close to 20 years.
Yes they slapped new logos on their products in subsequent production runs, but the product itself is the same model with the same specs as it always was. And this model is the 2002/2008 version, so the accusation that the person couldn’t have them around two decades ago is baseless.
I disagree with the person complaining about the price of a limited-availability discontinued product too, but this was just an attempted gotcha Andy moment that was completely unnecessary toward that critique.
