Can’t get these to work with my Logitech keyboard and mouse that use a unifying receiver now. Any suggestions?
Is it visible in the software? These must be paired to the device(s) before they work.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
You mouse & keyboard do have the little orange star on the bottom? If not, they won’t work with these receivers. If they do, are you using the unifying software, or the newer Options+ app? I’ve had better luck with the older devices using the old unifying software.. you can get it here: Unifying Software – Logitech Support + Download (they make it look like there’s no way to download it, but just click on the little black arrow/line on the lower left and you can select your OS/version)
If your mouse/keyboard don’t have either the orange unifying asterisk, or the yellow bolt logo, then they use the standard/2.4 receiver.. you can read all about this stuff here: How do I know if my device is Logitech Unifying or Logi Bolt?
THIS. RIGHT. HERE.
I’m in the mild dilemma that my MX 3 series mice connect with Bolt receivers, so I use that on my Mac Mini. I connect a MX series keyboard via Bluetooth.
But since my MX series keyboard works with the Unifying Receiver (of which I have more), I use it with a Unifying on my work Lenovo L15, but Bluetooth to connect the mice. (Yes I use two. For…reasons.)
I’d put a Bolt and Unifying on the Mac, but it only has so many USB-A ports: one for mice, one for Cyber Power UPS. And I’m unconvinced by the interweb mob who insist that you get better performance with the receivers. I find Bluetooth works fine.
Note: the MX mice and keyboards Logitech sells “for Mac” don’t come with receivers generally, they think macOS users are “all about the Bluetooth.” True., sometimes, and you get a battery level on teh appropriate widget. ![]()
For regular use, no. Those milliseconds of difference won’t be noticeable at all.
For gaming, there can be. The maximum polling rate via Bluetooth is 125 Hz whereas USB receivers can 1k Hz or higher.
I do. They are the MK710 and M705. Still not working.
I have my original receiver and my computers just recognize the devices.
I should note that the receivers I received do not have the orange star on them. In fact they just say “Logi” and that’s it. No mention of unifying receivers on the boxes either.
The packaging was quite different than what is shown in the ad.
Oof. That sounds like they are receivers for the non-unifying wireless mice/keyboard. I’ll post a comparison pic later. In the meantime, here’s the standard blurb:

In the Woot! App, choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.
Hmmm. I wonder if they’d work with the USB-A to USB-C adapter I got with the Kingston 2tb ssd.…
(edit) remembered that I had an Apple USB-A to USB-C adapter around. Probably bought on Woot!
(edit) It did.
Ah, yeah that’s the prob.. your devices are unifying, and those are the standard 2.4 receivers that only work with specific devices. Bummer.
