I bought the “60w equivalent” bulbs.
They aren’t very bright.
The back-up feature seems to work, though.
These are fun novelty toys, but worthless as a light bulb. After playing uncle fester then demonstrating how nicely the caps work to hang auxillary lighting, I replaced bulbs through out the house and charged them up.
There is no way to turn them off without unscrewing them. After 10-20 minutes the battery will finally die, and the light will go out with no possibility of emergency reserve.
I would not recommend use for any fixture that is not normally on 24x7.
These are possibly the most annoying and obnoxious item ever sold on woot. Perfect for driving a sleepy confused elderly parent completely insane.
I have to agree about the brightness of these. I bought these the last time they were on sale. Ironically, these were listed to be 20 lumens (measurement of brightness) higher than the incadescent bulb I replaced with it. And yet the lamp is considerably dimmer than it was with the old bulb.
Just tried one so far, it stays on when I turn the light switch off as well.
Got my pack of the 9w bulbs, which strangely aren’t mentioned on LyfeLite’s web site anywhere. My 100 year old house has some wonky wiring. They work properly in some fixtures, and in some they come on when the switch is off. Strangely in one lamp they don’t work at all but a regular LED bulb works just fine.
They are longer as many have mentioned, but I haven’t had any problems fitting them into anything yet. For the ceiling lights I don’t really care if they stick out 1/2" more if they’re going to give me light in a power outage.
The 9w does have a nice bright white light, easily enough to read by in the dark if it is close by.
Considering these were only slightly more expensive than a pack of regular LED bulbs, I can’t say I have any complaints if I can use them during a power outage.
If someone can combine the battery back-up with a ZWave remote-control they will have a hit on their hands.
I’m happy with these bulbs, and if they come up again I’ll probably buy some more.

Ordered a pack of 8 during the last sale.
Arrived quickly.
I love the idea but…
The ones I got were defective; when I turned the switch off, they stayed on (instead of turning off as they should).
Called Lyfelite and asked “am I doing it wrong?” and they said that no, the lights were defective. They said they weren’t sure what they were “doing with the woot orders”. They promised to look into it and call me back.
That was a month ago. I called yesterday and they promised to look into it again. Customer service was very nice but I’m pretty frustrated.

Same problem here. They don’t function as advertised. Switch off and they stay on.
Hi all. Sorry for those having issues with the bulbs staying on.
Please use the Woot Customer Service form for assistance.
I’ve alerted the tools team as well.
Same problem, they stay on when you switch them off.
