I am confused why so many continue to use “woot off killer”.

As trendy the phrase is, has it not lost its signifigance?

I checked the woot.com wikipedia entry, and found this in the “woot off” section.

Since the next item in the Woot-Off will not be listed till the current item is sold out, posters in Woot’s forums occasionally use peer pressure to advocate the purchase of the current item. Often members will boast of buying the current item just to advance the Woot-Off. It should be noted that during Woot-Offs, many forum members deviate from posting an honest critique of the product and instead pump the offering, hoping readers will quickly buy an inferior Woot and advance the Woot-Off to the next listing

That is like, so totally not true. We do not use peer pressure to get people to buy stuff. We are always honest around here. And for the record, this is the bestest GPS unit ever made, and would be a steal at three times the price. Ya’all should buy three.

Magellan is a rip off; the only way to get any decent maps is to pay for the software to download the topographical maps.

I suspect they’re a little busy today. It might be useful to exercise a little patience, as this wootoff will surely cause huge workloads at woot for a long time running.

Perhaps you would like to buy my Rio 128mb? I bought it and then later bought the 256…I don’t even care for the extra memory – I plan to use sd cards – but the 256 is silver (not red) and records from FM. Meanwhile, I figured I’d have to use the 128 as a gift for somebody…

As far as I know doug doug is a vole that only works the night shift, and TomTom is the real deal. This can’t touch it, however TomTom is 5 to 10 times the price

Here’s a blog entry with pointers to the hack - there are four serial pins underneath the battery compartment - RX, TX, GND, PWR. One link says how to build your own cable, the other sells an adapter of sorts.

this one is way better then the mp3 one. it actually displays speed, and looks to have way better functionality. It is worth around 120-140, wheras the other was worth 80-100

Dude - that is spamming the thread. I really don’t think w00t is going to screw you out of your $$$. Do you? Why do you assume that the folks who respond to this kind of issue are even working right now? Trust me, the bookkeepers go home at 5PM sharp.

If they can’t process your order, they’re going to give back your money. What do you think Woot is, a scam or something? The e-mail you got clearly explains what happen. Maybe they should give you a coupon or something, or buy some more Rios so you can get one too… but theyre not going to steal your money. And if they do, you can just call your CC company and stop the purchase.
