Mediocre 6 Piece Luggage Set

Mediocre !!! lol

What the heck, its exactly what I need. In for one.

Considering what the airlines do to your luggage, this is still too much to invest.

It’s USE ONCE-THROW AWAY.
Any trips after the first one is B-O-N-U-S.

Tend to spend more on luggage cases. Durability is more important.

Cool, everyone can always use more luggage!
AND this would be great for storing all that leftover clothes that are out-of-season (are you listening Frank Kostanza? Cabana-wear?) up in the attic.

A G-R-E-A-T w00t!

Sure, if you’re a serial killer.

I, personally don’t have any more space for more luggage. Especially three suitcases…

Mediocre?! lol wtf

WAIT! You’ve missed the point! They found an Applebee’s with a different interior! Where???Where??? Where???

At least its not refurb mediocre bags of … nothing

No bag lasts long if you check it on the airlines – maybe 10 flights at most. By then, the feet, one wheel, and half the zipper pulls will be gone; and there will be at least one major tear.

Most bags are nothing but zippered cloth boxes with wheels. The better ones have a few small zippered outside compartments for documents, receipts, and tickets; and the best ones would have a center divider to separate shoes and other heavy things from clothes (but I haven’t found this feature yet in any modern bag at any price – it used to be a common feature in baggage).

These bags are probably OK, certainly good enough for the price.

By the looks of this luggage, mediocre is the overstatement of the year. WOOT!

Well, as long as it’s mediocre, I’m in.

Edit: Aw, I can’t lie to you guys. I’m not really in; I bought a big giant bag at Target last month.

“Brown” ??
“Red” ???

This is ONE ROUND TRIP luggage. When you return, anything still functioning can be sold on Craigslist for what you paid for the rest. It’s a seriously good deal as long as your expectations are calibrated properly.

Remember - if it gets wet, you’d better look good in blue!

Buying good luggage is a waste of money if you fly a lot. Good luggage tears up just as quickly as cheap luggage. Or should I say mediocre luggage…
[/quote]

Yeah, the airline broke my top-of-the-line suitcase, and good luck getting them to reimburse you for the repairs. I bought the red set to take when I take a class in Europe this winter. If the airline tears it won’t be such a big deal.

And I liked John’s idea of packing out-of-season clothes in my old luggage. Awesome! Quality posts tonight … no five dumb-as touting “first!” or noobie biatching that there’s no bandolier of carrots. It must be Christmas!

Ah, Woot, you do slay me with your copy…but this time you’re really killing me. I work for a tour company that’s having to downsize because everyone’s doing ‘staycations’ (can we please retire that word? I’m hearing it in my sleep now…). So I won’t be buying luggage, mediocre or otherwise, because I may need that $$$ to furnish the cardboard box I’ll have to move into soon.

People, take the money you’re saving on mediocre luggage and get the heck out of the country for a while, I beg of you! Really, I just got back from a week in Mexico, it’s lovely there right now. 9 pesos to the dollar! Go!

:::looking around for a battery big enough to power a computer in a cardboard box:::

Good write-up. I think they should be called “Bush Bags” in honor of our illustrious president.

Too funny!! Found out this week that my 25-inch-er has indeed traveled its last trip and I had it in mind to begin keeping an eye out for a replacement — and whadayaknow ?! WOOT to the rescue ---- aaaaah-gain! While I’ll certainly still be watching for a sweet deal on an Eagle Creek Hovercraft, these will do in the duration. Plus - we’ll be moving house (hopefully!) within a year’s time - can always use the extra bags for packing things that need particular handling - mediocre or otherwise. A fair and reasonable deal there guys - again - thanks!

I do extensive worldwide travel and have spent a lot money on expensive luggage that ends up torn to shreds. I am going to but 3 sets of these and laugh at those baggage handlers for once.

Very tempting - I travel a lot and my 7-year old TravelPro set is looking rough. ALmost worth it just for the garment bag and toiletry kit. But busted zippers and weak dye in the rain spooks me. Better pass.

Just a little bit of advice for those who do not travel in airports but every now and then. Never buy the black set! Everyone on God’s green earth carries black luggage! If you have a red or tan it is sooooooo much easier to spot on the belt at baggage claim! Also I have seen even the most expensive pieces of luggage simply fall apart from the pounding they take. I am getting a couple sets of these, heck even if they last just a few trips, it is so much easier letting something like this go than if I had paid a few hundred for a designer set!
