No, both the SQ1 and SQ2 have always had Windows 11 support. In Windows 10, the ARM processors could only emulate 32-bit applications. Windows 11 brought full 64-bit support right from the release date.
I bought this exact device back in early 2021, but I didn’t keep it, there were too many problems running an ARM processor with Windows 10. I decided to try it again and I am much happier with the Pro X under Windows 11. Anything should now run because Windows 11 will emulate any 64-bit software. It must be doing a pretty good job because I can’t tell when something is running natively or in emulation. When I had it last time, it wouldn’t run MS Office Professional 2019, or print to my Color LaserJet on a JetDirect card. All of that works now. I’ve had almost every Surface Pro version going all the way back to the beginning, and this one has the best battery life of any of them.
Thnx, I understand which is why I used “or” above. I was just hopeful after 19yrs in CS call centers remembering that Empathy was big on the scorecard.
Booting every one…funny. The only item I ever touched was a headset with a mute button
