I didn’t realize some trash company paid for the Minolta name and is dragging it through the mud. You can tell that the “lens” is just a plastic cap for what looks like a cheap webcam camera in the center…
Sometimes I really hesitate to believe the worst, but you guys keep us all woke!
yeah, soo many good companies from the past are now owned ( in name only) by sleezy ones
Look at what happened to Nakamichi , great example.
This is whom makes that POS and what it says on their “Minolta Cameras” website at the bottom
MANUFACTURED UNDER LICENSE BY ELITE BRANDS INC. • www.elitebrands.com • Copyright © 2024 Elite Brands Inc.
Here are the brands they make ( they even messed up Coleman…
You probably recognize :“Bell and Howell” and their crap on “As seen on TV”… not the same company forever it was back in the day ( 1920’s- 1970’s )
Nakamachi is still run by Etsuo’s son though and they did pioneer many things found in everyday soundbars today. Yes they do produce mass manufactured audio equipment like most elite brands do to stay alive in today’s economy, but, to say they have gone to complete trash isn’t necessarily true when they have won awards not so long ago…
All I have seen is the cheap stuff on woot. I had a Nakamichi 1000 tape deck in the late 70’s
I still use my Luxman and Klipsch Heritage , Forte’s and K-Horns to this day… Luxman regained their company and is back in the high end, and Klipsch is still making the Heritage in Hope Arkansas.
Looking online all I see are home theater sound bars ( including high end Dragon, award winning 21 + channel, ect, ) , portable speakers ( like what was on woot ) low to mid range car audio. Cannot seem to find anywhere they still have Audiophile Amps , Pre-Amps, etc. Guess will investigate further
thank you for the info
The real Coleman is owned by Newell Brands which owns many, many other well known popular brands. On the real Coleman site, they state that additional products that they don’t make themselves are manufactured for them under license by other manufacturers.
From their website:
Brand Licensing Opportunities
“Coleman continues to explore opportunities in other categories in which we do not manufacture. If you are interested in licensing any of the Coleman brands on product your company manufactures, please email colemanlicensing@coleman.com with the following information:”
- Brand inquiring about
- Product category for consideration
- Presentation on company history and capabilities
- Company website
As far as Minolta, yes, not what it once was. Then there’s Konica Minolta which is another beast all in itself ![]()
That video is a devastating critique of the zombie known as Minolta.
they should just label those “PlaySchool”
