Has anyone tried this with Time Warner Cable in Houston?

If so, I might consider it… I’ll take one for the team…

Time Warner In Houston has Digital Audio;
If the reciever has a ‘Coaxial Input’ and not an Optical Input then you can use it with TWC’s DVR or digital cable box.

TWC does not have optical outputs on their DVR or DCB’s.

Ok, I’m gonna play stupid here. between little sleep from work (and driving 4 hours back home tonight from Dallas) and the woot off, does this have coaxial imputs?
I just looked at the specs but I didn’t see it. I may have missed it.
If I get it, i have the ceiling mounted speakers I got from here I’m sure I could use, so it would be a fun system to set up.
I’m in serious slo-mo tonight so I’m sorta looking to see if any of my local wooters have bought and set this up successfully…

Look under Descriptions, and it lists both optical and coaxial…

If you’ve got the digital box or DVR from TWC; you’re all set!

Nope; you need the dgital box for the signal to be processed from. Without the box you would have to have a Digital Cable Ready television…

Just keep the box, it’ll be easier to hook up

I did that, too . . . for a while. But last night I just got fed up and whipped up a batch of stuff so egregious that it ATE the ENTIRE page one of the watch topic.

Shortly after which, BigD stepped in and edited my post.

. . . which I’m actually grateful for, since it proves they’re now aware of the depth of the problems. I’m confident it’ll get fixed, but of course have no guess as to when their schedules will permit it.

(and no, for those who might be wondering, I have lived and worked in both Fort Worth and St. Louis, and . . . never again. Visiting is plenty)
