Find your local Home Brew Beer Shop and check them out for brewing classes, fermentation equipment, recipes kits, etc.

I started with a Mr. Beer kit 5 years ago. It was simple and easy to get going and learn the basics. I have 3 fermenters now and still use them after over 100 batches. I don’t use the Mr Beer ingredients anymore. It can be an easy progression to on to more involved brewing.If you go to your local home brew shot it will cost you $100+ to get started. I am a fan.
