More gambling on Woot

Don’t do it. I’ve been bit 6 times over the last 15 years. It’s never been worth it.
At least they dropped the price by 80 bucks since last week’s sale. You’ll still be disappointed but at least it’s close to it’s actual value. If your one of the lucky 25% you’ll even get slightly more than you paid for.
- 13.1" HD Display (1366 x 768 resolution) - 80% of customers will receive a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display. 65% of customers will receive a 14.0" screen and 10% will receive a 15.6" screen.
I may not be reading this right but 80% will get at 13.1 display, 65% will get a 14 inch screen, and a 10% will get a 15.6. Does Woot always give 155%? Those processors tell me these laptops are going to be 7 years old at least.
I read it as 80% of the 13.1” screens are 1920x1080, not that 80% of the laptops are 13.1.
The first part is the minimum.
Hopefully this helps:
At minimum, you should expect to receive the following:
- 13.1" HD Display (1366 x 768 resolution)
Then, some more specific specs:
-
80% of customers will receive a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display.
(Thus, 20% or less will be 1366 x 768.) -
65% of customers will receive a 14.0" screen
-
10% will receive a 15.6" screen.*
(Thus, 25% or less will recieve a 13.1" screen.)
Is there an Assurance plan availability on Amazon for these?
This sort of gambling should be illegal.
You’s a Damn Fool, if you ever buy “sCrAtCh aNd dEnT” Electronics, let a lone Mystery Boxes
.

Yeah, not so much.
Most “scratch and dent” items I’ve purchased have looked brand new. I’ve had a mixed bag with mystery items and the “not so great” results from other mystery items keeps me from larger mystery purchases (like a computer).
Woot should really just BoC these.
Anyone received a macbook in this deal?
Are you familiar with Woot? Pretty much everyone here has purchased scratch and dent electronics.

i took a chance and ordered one last time… received a Dell Latitude 7400, 16GB Ram, 14" touch screen, Core i7 @ 2.11 Ghz and and Kingfast 512GB SSD. It looked brand new - not a scratch, dent or other sign of wear. The service tag from Dell indicates it was placed in service in 06 April 2020, so it’s coming up on 4 years old.
Came with WIN10 Pro installed, but supports WIN 11. I went ahead and did the auto-upgrade to WIN 11. Not sure I really like it (was very familiar with WIN 10 on my other 6 computers) but it’s fine. And perhaps someday I’ll need WIN 11.
So, even at that 4 year ‘age’, I am VERY HAPPY with this… don’t listen to the non-believers. Well worth the $179.
Dell Refurbished. I got a one-off Dell/Wyse laptop for $59. It arrived having never been used. Added a bigger SSD and some more memory and I have a Windows 11 laptop (albeit a bit slow).
