Welp, I paid $90 for this unit here in a prior sale…don’t I feel like a schmuck.
Bummer, but how do you like the deck?
Heh, to be fair. It was almost 6 months ago. ![]()
I also paid around $90. It was a good deal then. Now it’s a great deal. I works great and was relatively easy to install with the appropriate harness from Crutchfield.
I wanted to buy it but it doesnt appear on crutchfield for my vehicle model ![]()
Its a ford escape 08 xls
You just need the ISO adapter for your vehicle from crutchfield, nothing specific to this unit.
Additionally, if you have steering wheel controls, those are specific to a vehicle as well.
I also bought this at the higher price and have not had any issues with it. I haven’t used the DVD/disc portion at all though.
Keep in mind that while a lot of the android-based replacement head units are not deep (into the dash), this one is, to accommodate the disc drive. It was a tight fit going into my Saab 9-3 with all of the wiring and adapters behind it.
Thanks!
I was tempted by the price, but I’m going to hold off for a unit with wireless AA/Car Play.
I bought one and installed this a few months ago on my Toyota Tacoma 2nd gen. It was easy to install, but it does overheat and turn off when connected via USB android Auto
Will this fit in my Toyota Corolla 2013 and Toyota Camry 2012?
Bought this earlier to update OEM 2010 Honda Fit AM/FM/CD unit. 2DIN faceplate from Crutchfield plus wiring connector and antenna adaptor required for installation.
Older Android Auto version is pretty complete, although not quite perfect. Automatic day/night mode always comes up in day mode, requiring fiddling with settings to get to night mode. Volume controls reset to defaults when powering up unit, and nav volume is muted until manually changed. Slightly annoying, might be some settings I haven’t found yet.
Main unit functions are fine, with notable issues: time/date settings are not reliable, radio reception is not that great (although this may be a vehicle wiring issue). DVD, streaming, and external USB drive audio sounds great through stock speakers.
I added a backup camera, external mic, and a Motorola wireless Android Auto dongle (front USB). All work great!
what’s the exact model number for this…couldn’t find on the listing page.
Nakamichi NA6605
thanks!
Be careful during installation, half of my display just stopped working. Could be large hands error, could be a bad unit. Figured it could be my fault so I just ordered another.
I’ll report back if it’s a bad unit on the second one.
I installed one in our 2012 Corolla and it works great.
You must buy the installation kit, the antenna adapter, and the wiring harness adapter (I went with a combination of Amazon and Crutchfield for sources).
I also bought an Axxess AX-TOY28SWC Steering Wheel Controller wiring harness adapter for $10 on eBay, so now the steering wheel controls work too. However, yours might use the 20-pin connector, so check before ordering.
