Neato D8 Intelligent Robot Vacuum

Neato D8 Intelligent Robot Vacuum

I loved Neato. We still have three of them. But the parent company closed them down and the app supported has recently ended. There is some technical support for them and the buttons still work, but the app(s) are officially dead. I think some people are working on Homebridge support, but be aware that these things are on the edge of eWaste.

Yep, I set mine out late at night, she never get caught up, always cleans well and I was so sad that they ended the app 3 years early. Compared to other robotic vacs, this one was the bomb, almost never had an issue. She’s still working on the schedule I set up before EOA (end of app)…I call her a zombie since she’s still works without me pressing a button. I loathe the day that ends…hoping someone comes up with a workaround app.

Came here to say the same thing. I’ve owned Samsung, Roomba, and Neato robovacs and Neato was my favorite. I’ve never used this particular model, but I’m sure this is a great product. However, with the support ended, they should give these away for free. I would be very upset if I paid $99 and app not working.

While the company did shutdown and was sold off, the app currently still works for me. I literally just ran my D4 this morning using it.

I have this model and two older (and arguably nicer) ones. They have been emailing me each time they have “blocked” my robot as they are shutting the service down and deleted my user accounts.

Bought one for my wife a couple years ago and she loved it. She was very unhappy to discover recently that the app was dropped. I’d love to buy another one, but with no app it is a paper weight only. Put it in a bag of crap!

D4 and D8 use different apps. D4 used the “neato” app. D8 used the “MyNeato” app. The bots themselves used different backends, so the apps aren’t interoperable. My D4 was still working when I retired it today. My D8 was blocked out of the app a couple weeks ago.

This “deal” reminds me of the time when jawbone shutdown overnight and all the retailers still had jawbone up trackers in inventory that people were buying and unable set up to use.

A little bit disappointed in woot for offering it.

Good to know, thanks.

These units are great. Even in manual mode they clean the whole house better than any other brand I have had.
