Can anyone (owner) attest that there is a big difference (features) between Pixel 1 and pixel 2 watches?

Not a Pixel Watch 2 owner, but I do have a Pixel Watch (LTE) and have seen various different Reddit posts discussing some differences between the two.

The Pixel Watch 1 has wireless charging (only via the official charging puck - official/3rd party wireless charging stands/pads won’t work) whereas the Pixel Watch 2 uses proprietary pins to charge (some Fitbit chargers will work with it + 3rd party options).

The Pixel Watch 2 appears to have better battery (especially in AOD) compared to the Pixel Watch.

Water resistance is better (I think) on the Pixel Watch 2. I’ve only ever took my Pixel Watch (LTE) to swim once and it worked just fine – many advised not to; some have had better/worse luck.

Also the Pixel Feature drops introduce more features from the Pixel Watch 3 on the Pixel Watch 2 compared to the Pixel Watch 1.

I got my Pixel Watch (LTE) back in late 2023 for about $120 on Swappa. Have tried various different settings and found it’s best to have AOD + touch enabled vs. tilt to wake. You’ll see some screen retention with AOD enabled regardless of which watch you go for.

Overall, the Pixel Watch 1 is a good watch. But, I think software support ends this year in October. That’s one thing to keep in mind.

Also I wanted to ask, is this the LTE model being sold? Under the model description it indicates “GPS + Cellular.”

Yes.

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up. Will definitely try to purchase a pair as gifts.

Edit: Purchased 2 watches for my parents. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I bought this last time for $120. I realize that support ends this year, but who cares ? I used a Samsung Galaxy 5 until the 20 came out without a single problem. Bottom line…you’ll never see a watch of this quality for a price like this again. Great smart watch IMO. As far as battery life, I always keep mine on battery saver mode. At the end of the day when I put it on the charger I always have 50 % or more remaining battery life. There are also some nifty chargers out there that allow you to charge your phone, pixel watch and ear buds all at once.

How often do you have to charge yours?

Pixel Watch owner here. Great watch aside from battery life. (I think the Pixel Watch 2 also has a subpar battery life.) It lasts me 36 hours max, much less if I’m tracking runs or hikes with GPS on. It does fully charge pretty quickly however, in about a half hour or so, so not that big of a deal.

It’s been an exceptional smart watch otherwise. This is a steal at $80.

I charge it at most once a day (usually before bed - tend to put it on the charger at around 8:30PM-10PM and wear it to bed 10:30PM-11PM).

Battery life is mixed depending on the configuration (AOD + touch, TTW, tracking, LTE, etc.), but it lasts me the whole day (I use sleep tracking via Fitbit and track my walks/exercise). AOD is probably best if you don’t do a lot of exercise tracking (TTW should suffice + you’ll save a bit more battery life). Otherwise, the difference for everyday usage (checking the time, responding to messages, calls, etc.) is not that much (probably around 5%-15% difference).

I probably used LTE once or twice and definitely noticed that the battery drains fairly quickly (might have to retest this though).

Only got the LTE model since 1. I got it for fairly cheap at the time ($120) 2. Peace of mind if I accidentally leave my phone at home (+ Google Fi offers free smartwatch connectivity).

So, yeah. I normally charge it once a day. Haven’t had any issues in terms of battery since owning the watch (again late 2023).
