(NEW) 2021 Apple iPad Pro 12.9" 5G Tablet

Not the best deal I’ve seen. You can get the new M2 with same memory but Wi-Fi only for the exact price.

I have one of these (2021 model, but without the 5G). It’s very nice and I must say the display clarity is simply amazing. This is the first model to have that generation display, and it is a noticeable step-up from other iPads and iPad Pros that I’ve had. Note that the smaller (11") size model iPad Pro does NOT have the improved display, even in the current (2022) model. So if you want the great display, this 2021 or the 2022 12.9" model are the ones to get.

Similar observations -

The screen clarity and quality is pretty fantastic. If you want to nitpick, it does still exhibit some blooming or “haloing” artefacts as the screen processing behind some darker content with bright highlights are displayed. BUT it’s still better to have minimal bloom, compared to elevated and rather grey black levels across the whole display!

The processing power is way more than enough, even for intensive video or photo manipulation; I frequently load many photos in Adobe Lightroom, and then do image manipulation in several other apps as well. The M1 and the additional capability to fully utilise the RAM onboard are plenty for almost any practical use of a tablet at this point. Without a more “robust” OS, more horsepower is not the limiting factor in a vast majority of cases.

The one thing that I would not readily recommend about this deal is the storage - 128GB for this class of powerful tablet is not a lot. If you want to just load up a few games, some e-books or audiobooks, a few hundred songs, a dozen movies, etc., then you’d be almost better served by an iPad Air (or base model) at close to half the price. If you want/need the high refresh, extra power, and all that a “pro” tablet offers, then you will likely need to run lean on storage, and rely heavily on cloud storage to supplement. Mine is a 128GB fifth Gen like this (without cellular), and I am constantly hitting the storage limits, even with a few cutbacks to what I had on a previous iPad (11” Pro, 3rd Gen, 256GB)

Your mileage may vary depending on use, but that is the one hesitation that I would have. Otherwise, there is virtually nothing about the newer M2-equipped model that tempts me much - This will do just fine
