A new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the base M2 Pro chip (10-core CPU, 16-core GPU) chip, 32GB RAM and 512GB SSD is $2399.

Factor in a two-year-old battery (unused Lithium-Ion batteries degrade with time, depending on storage temperature and state of charge) and this would be a better deal in the $1600 neighborhood.

At only a $300 difference, I would just go with a new one.

Great laptop. I switch from Windows to the appleverse a couple months ago for better video editing and couldn’t be happier. That said, this is the same macbook you see around for 1599.99. Only difference is the 32 gb ram vs the 16. Not sure if that is worth 400 dollars to someone. As another poster mentioned. At this price I would go for the newer M2 pros out.

OK deal. Compare to the prices on the Apple Refurb Store: Refurbished 14-inch MacBook Pro Apple M1 Pro Chip with 10‑Core CPU and 16‑Core GPU - Space Gray - Apple

I’d be much more tempted if this was the 1TB version, though.

I appreciate the final stock image showing ports/screen thickness… that is clearly showing two different models. This is the QC we’ve come to know and expect from Woot!

If I’m spending this much money on something and a brand new one with full factory warranty etc is just 2 to $300 more than I’d go with the new one.

A pair of apple airpods I bought from woot quit working less than a year after I bought them. Called Apple support and they asked me to bring it in. Haven’t been able to go in yet, but keep stressing that they will see that it is refurbished and bought from woot and tell me to take a hike.

I tried out this MacBook when it first came out. As a Windows guy, I was curious and figured I would tinker around with it. Boy bywas that a waste of money. I just couldn’t handle an OS that felt so dated. The hardware on this laptop is top notch, but the software leaves a lot to be desired.

I still can’t understand why Apple is so anti touchscreens for their computers when they pretty much started the modern touchscreen movement.

Apple would rather sell you a laptop and an iPad, instead of a Laptop that can be an iPad as well.

Yeah but Apple doesn’t sell this model anymore. You would have to buy the one with the M2 chip, which has its advantages but there are disadvantages as well.

You might be able to find it on a refurb but as someone posted above, the one that’s closest that they have only has half the RAM, and cost a few hundred dollars more than this…

I’m not saying it’s a good deal I’m just saying you can’t actually go to Apple and buy a brand new m1 MacBook pro.

It’s not something I’m in the market for anyway because I need to touch screen, stylus support etc…

Does the M2 have the issue with the slower SSD?

Where’s that just limited to the base model and the mini version I’ve seen some videos where there are legitimate downsides to the empty chip, including thermal performance but particularly the slower SSDs.
